Data-driven virtual sensor for online loads estimation of drivetrain of wind turbines

Abstract Data-driven approaches have gained interest recently in the field of wind energy. online estimators been investigated and demonstrated several applications such as loads estimation, wake center position estimations, damage estimation. The present work demonstrates application machine learning algorithms to formulate an estimator internal acting on bearings drivetrain onshore turbines. is implemented a linear state-space model that augmented with non-linear feed-forward neural network. infers time series function standard measurements from SCADA condition monitoring systems (CMS). A formal analysis available data carried out define structure virtual sensor regarding order models, number states, architecture networks. Correlation coefficient 98% domain matching frequency signature are achieved. Several mentioned discussed this estimation forces for predictive control applications.
